In a directory like BG you need to create a folder named Portraits. The description of the portrait cannot be longer than 8 characters. I don't know how it is with the EE series, but in the old version you have to convert the portrait to the BMP file format in 110x170 (24 bit) resolution with a note L at the end and a small 36x58 (8-bit) with the letter S at the end. The portraits are of course separate, the art in this post is only illustrative. You do not need to log in, the files do not have a password, just download the selected portrait. The link to Dropbox is on Balduran's Armory GROUP on Fb. You can use them on Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights Today I have another dose of portraits for you. Looking for other players? Try /r/baldursgate3!.6.9K Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.420 Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition.88 Persistent Worlds & Multiplayer for NWN (not EE).409 Custom Content & Community Exp Pack.My understanding is that this behavior should *not* be present in 2.6.6, so it must be a mod. Adding an M or F prefix also restricts the portraits to the relevant gender option. It's also worth noting that a seven character limit seems to be enforced (portrait filenames with 8 characters, not including L, show up as blanks). ![]() ![]() I just can't understand why the game would freeze and crash as a result of the portraits.Īll of them are 24-bit BMP files at 210x330 or less, and they have filenames of the type "Fchar114.bmp" or "Mchar192.bmp"Īppending L to the end of the filenames in the portrait folder completely solved the problem. Is there a hard coded limit? This is hard to believe I was able to use this many portraits just fine in my last install (which was also 2.6.6). but although the portraits initially seem to show up in character creation, they are actually blank, and when I scroll to them, the game freezes and then crashes. They are all very high quality and will fit well into any game of BG2. 150 Female Fantasy Portraits by Rastor (Submitted) 5.5MB: Download: This is a collection of approximately 150 female portraits collected from various sources. I was able to get this to work with this utility (after some tweaking). This package contains all 51 male portraits from Icewind Dale 2 for use in Baldurs Gate 2. I've been trying to get around the problem by using the method of an M_*.lua file in my override folder which lists all the portraits with the appropriate gender (and the bmp files in the override folder as well). Obviously some combination of mods on the second install is causing issues. On the previous install from just 48 hours prior, the portaits were recognized just fine. v 2.6.6.įor whatever reason, some combination of the mods I'm using is causing the portraits folder at \Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition Trilogy\portraits not to be recognized. Fresh install, heavily modded the second fresh install in less than a week.
